Understand the early plan before making a commitment
Early Action and Early Decision are different plans, and some early options include restrictions. Read the institution's current terms before applying. The Common App Early Decision requirements describe an agreement process involving the applicant and supporters. Do not treat that agreement as a routine box to check without understanding it.
Early Decision is intended for a binding first-choice commitment under the institution's stated terms. Discuss the choice and financial implications with your family and counselor before signing. Do not assume you may ignore the agreement and freely continue elsewhere.
